Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEN Tutor to work in the South Durham area (Bishop Auckland). The role involves delivering 1:1 or small group tuition for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) during school hours, with hours spanning 6-15 per week per student.

The position is contract/temporary, with up to £30 per hour and flexible full-time/part-time arrangements. Tutors will create lesson plans, monitor progress, and submit weekly reports.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering SEN tutoring in 1:1 or small groups.
• Ability to create, plan and deliver tailored lessons.
• Comfortable working with children with SEN and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition supporting students with SEN, focusing on confidence, life skills and independence.
• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans addressing individual learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families.
• Create a supportive learning environment to rebuild confidence in learning.
• Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
