Job summary

Powertutors Ltd is seeking experienced tutors to provide long-term, one-to-one tuition for SEND learners in their homes or community settings in Staines and nearby areas. You will focus on Maths and English, delivering sessions tailored to EYFS to GCSE levels and Functional Skills, while supporting EHCP outcomes.

Applicants should have a degree and substantial tutoring or teaching experience, DBS enhanced, safeguarding training, and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND learners, notably ASD/ADHD/SEMH.
• Degree and substantial tutoring or teaching experience.
• Based near Staines or adjacent areas with own transport.
• Enhanced DBS and safeguarding training within 2 years.
• Right to work in the UK; QTS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver long-term, one-to-one tuition in home settings.
• Teach Maths and English at the learner's level.
• Track progress and share outcomes with families.
• Collaborate with families to support EHCP goals.

SUMMARY

• Pay: £25 - £35 per hour


• Hours: Up to 15 hours per week, term time only


• Location: Staines and nearby areas [Walton, Molesey and Addlestone]


• Key Stages: EYFS to GCSE, including Functional Skills


• Setting: 1:1 in the pupil's home or community setting


• Job type: Self Employed or PAYE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We're looking for experienced and dedicated tutors who believe every learner can thrive with the right support.

Our students are children and young people educated at home, most with an EHCP. Many have autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.

You’ll deliver long-term, one-to-one tuition in their homes, typically in Maths and English, at the level you specialise in: play-based EYFS, primary, secondary or Functional Skills. You'll adapt each session to the learner, work towards their EHCP outcomes, and track and share their progress.

You’ll work alongside families and our team to help young people grow in confidence.

ABOUT YOU

Experience working with SEND learners, particularly ASD, ADHD or SEMH. This is essential.

A degree and substantial specialist teaching or tutoring experience.

Based in or near one of these areas, with your own transport.

A current Enhanced DBS. If you don't have one, we'll guide you through it from day one.

Safeguarding training (Level 2 or above) from the last two years.

The right to live and work in the UK.

QTS is preferred but not essential.
