Job summary

Powertutors Ltd is seeking a SEN Tutor for home or community-based one-to-one tutoring in Maths and English for SEND learners in Hampshire/Portsmouth (PO1). The role is contract, with up to 15 hours per week during term time, in Portsmouth and nearby areas, and offers pay of £25-£35 per hour.

You’ll work with children and young people, many with EHCPs and neurodiverse needs, leveraging your degree and specialist tutoring experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND learners, particularly ASD/ADHD/SEMH.
• Degree and substantial specialist teaching or tutoring experience.
• Based in or near Portsmouth with own transport.
• Has an Enhanced DBS and safeguarding training within last two years.
• Right to live and work in the UK; QTS preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver long-term, one-to-one tuition in Maths and English at the learner's home or community setting.
• Adapt each session to the learner and EHCP outcomes; track and share progress.
• Collaborate with families and Powertutors team to support learner confidence.

SUMMARY

• Pay: £25 - £35 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We're looking for experienced and dedicated tutors who believe every learner can thrive with the right support.

Our students are children and young people educated at home, most with an EHCP. Many have autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.

You’ll deliver long-term, one-to-one tuition in their homes, typically in Maths and English, at the level you specialise in: play‑based EYFS, primary, secondary or Functional Skills. You'll adapt each session to the learner, work towards their EHCP outcomes, and track and share their progress.

ABOUT YOU
