Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor for an in-person role in the Ledston area. The position runs Monday to Friday during term-time with flexible contract options.

You will design sessions linked to EHCP objectives, report progress, and collaborate with families and professionals to support learners. The role emphasises delivering learning through play, multi-sensory activities, and creating a positive learning environment while meeting the needs of pupils with SEN

Qualifications

  • Clear vision of SEN requirements.
  • Experience with pupils with severe learning difficulties.
  • Ability to motivate learners.
  • Ability to work with parents/carers.
  • Personal resilience.
  • Desirable: experience as SEN tutor/teacher in home or school.
  • Desirable: QTS.
  • Desirable: planning sessions for pupils on alternate curriculum.
  • Desirable: training related to SLD.
  • Desirable: willing to be trained in intensive interaction techniques.

Role: SEN Tutor
Location: In person
Hours: Monday to Friday
Contract: Flexible (Term Time)

We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to join us at Connex Education.

  • Planning sessions to meet the needs of the young person, linked to EHCP objectives, delivering learning through play and planning multi-sensory activities to meet the needs of each pupil
  • Reporting on pupil progress and attendance.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
Essential
  • A clear vision and understanding of the requirements of pupils with special educational needs.
  • Experience of working with pupils with severe learning difficulties.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  • Ability to work with parents/carers
  • Personal resilience
Desirable
  • Experience working as SEN tutor/teacher, in a home or school
  • QTS
  • Experience of planning sessions for pupils who are accessing an alternate curriculum
  • Evidence of training specifically relating to pupils with SLD
  • Experience of, or willing to be trained in, 'intensive interaction' techniques
