Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a SEN Tutor in Southend-on-Sea to work 10–15 hours per week, ASAP. The role involves one-to-one teaching of core subjects to a student with SEN, including ASD and challenging behaviour, either privately or through local authorities.

You will apply differentiated teaching methods and maintain high standards of communication and reliability. The ideal candidate has QTS or substantial teaching experience in English/Maths/Science, plus at least two years of SEN experience

Qualifications

• QTS or at least 1 year experience teaching and assessing English and / or Maths and / or Science in primary and / or secondary schools
• At least 2 years' experience working with SEN (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, ADD, PDA, dysgraphia, and global developmental delay)
• Proven record of heightening pupil's confidence, self-esteem and love of learning
• 100% passion for education, commitment, reliability and honesty
• To creatively apply differentiated techniques to planning and teaching
• Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
• Incredible patience
• An excellent knowledge of different learning styles and how to use these
• The ability to deal with possible behaviour issues
• A Enhanced DBS on the update service
• A willingness to apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance
• Register to work as self-employed.

Responsibilities

The young student has ASD, challenging behaviour and needs special support throughout the day.

SEN experience needed:
