Qualifications

• Experience supporting Primary age students with SEN in a school setting.
• Care experience of children with SEN.
• Patience, resilience, and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Team player who can also use initiative.
• Care Assistant or MAPA training is a bonus, but not essential. Training can be provided via The National College.

Responsibilities

• Behaviour and emotional support: Be a calm, consistent presence and help students develop social and self-regulation skills

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: East London Primary PMLD SLD School

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

Start: October 2026

We're recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for a fantastic Primary SEN school in East London. The school supports students aged 2 - 11 with a range of SEN, including Complex Needs, Profound Needs, Medical Needs and learning difficulties. Classes are small and nurturing, with a strong focus on development, independence, and wellbeing.
