Job summary

The Education Specialists (TES) are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist education setting in Greater Manchester, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.

As an SEN TA you will work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider team to provide high-quality support, including 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning and participate in school life.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Patient, resilient and compassionate.
• Ability to support pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Experience in a specialist SEN setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and complex learning needs.
• Help pupils access learning and participate in school life.
• Support communication, social development and independence.
• Implement individual support and behaviour plans.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to help pupils regulate and engage.
• Assist with personal care and day-to-day needs when required.
• Build trusting relationships and work with teachers and therapists.
• Create a calm, safe, structured learning environment.
