Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you a theatre enthusiast eager to make a meaningful impact in education?
GSL Education are on the lookout for a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) with a background in theatre to join our dynamic team in Ashford.

This role offers the opportunity to utilise your creative talents to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), fostering their confidence and communication skills through the arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhancing Learning Through Creativity: Incorporate drama and role-play into daily lessons to make learning more engaging and help students express themselves confidently.
  • Personalised Support for Diverse Needs: Offer tailored assistance to students with various special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers and therapists to create and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's unique requirements.
  • Fostering an Inclusive Environment: Help establish a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages all students to participate and showcase their creativity.

Requirements:

  • Background in theatre or performing arts, with a passion for creative education.
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced background checks, as required for working with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Have anupdated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)and anenhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
  • Competitive daily rate of £88.94.
