Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Croydon. The successful candidate will provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) within a mainstream secondary school setting, collaborating with the SENCo and teaching staff.

You will adapt learning activities, provide one-to-one support for students with SEN including behavioural, emotional and social support, monitor progress and feed back to teachers and parents,

Qualifications

• Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent experience with SEN
• Experience with students with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents
• Knowledge of National Curriculum and SEN policies and procedures
• Commitment to ongoing professional development

Responsibilities

• Work with the SENCo and teaching staff to support students with SEN in the classroom.
• Adapt and implement learning activities and resources to meet individual needs of students.
• Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, including behavioural, emotional and social support.
• Record and monitor progress of students with SEN, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and equipment.
