Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Bolton. You will work alongside teachers, the SENCO and the pastoral team to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.

You'll provide in-class support, run small-group interventions, assist with curriculum access and contribute to students' social and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Experience as SEN TA or Learning Support Assistant.
• Experience in mainstream secondary school.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEN in lessons and through small-group interventions.
• Helping pupils access and engage with the curriculum.
• Supporting students with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCO.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging independence.
• Supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
