Job summary

Uniform Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Kingston upon Thames. You will support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them access the curriculum with patience and encouragement.

Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you will tailor support, foster positive behaviour, and contribute to a nurturing learning environment. This full-time, long-term role starts September 2026 and offers ongoing PD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN.
• Experience working in a school setting.
• Caring, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• DBS check or willingness to apply for a new DBS.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of pupils.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support pupil progress.
