Job summary

Cambian New Elizabethan School is a day school for 45 students aged 7 - 19, located in Worcestershire, offering specialist education for pupils with communication difficulties, autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour. You will support pupils in accessing a broad curriculum and work under a qualified teacher to plan and deliver lessons.

We provide induction and ongoing training, with clear pathways for career development.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of autism and/or Special educational needs is beneficial.
• Well-developed organisation and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work flexibly and be a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Support students to learn and make progress in lessons.
• Assist the teacher/tutor in the preparation of work.
• Support students during school-based and community-based learning.
• Ensure students make progress in formal learning situations as well as with self-help skills, life skills and social understanding.
