Job description

Are you passionate about making a profound and positive impact on a child's educational experience?

Are you seeking a flexible role where you can apply your specialist skills in a variety of supportive school environments across Leeds?

Randstad Education is searching for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in our partner primary schools and specialist provisions throughout Leeds.

This is a uniquely rewarding opportunity to provide vital support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will be instrumental in helping these children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. We have opportunities for an immediate start and for roles beginning in the new academic year.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with SEN on a one-to-one or small group basis.
  • Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Using your skills and training to help manage challenging behaviour and create a calm learning environment.
  • Fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels safe and valued.
  • Assisting with the development of social skills and encouraging positive interaction with peers.

Why Join Randstad Education?

  • Competitive Rates of Pay: We offer attractive pay that reflects your specialist skills.
  • Flexibility: Choose the days and hours that work for you, creating a positive work-life balance.
  • Specialist Roles: Gain experience in a variety of settings, from mainstream schools with SEN units to dedicated specialist provisions.
  • Dedicated Consultant: You will receive personal support from a consultant who understands the SEN sector.
  • Free Training: Access to our library of accredited CPD courses, including Team Teach and other SEN-specific training.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs is essential.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
  • Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies is highly desirable (e.g., Makaton, PECS, visual timetables).
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
