GSL Education Southgate is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with high and complex ASD at an all-through SEN school in Southgate, N14. The role is ad hoc supply with hours from 8:15am to 3:45pm, ASAP start, offering potential for regular work leading to a permanent contract.

You will provide dedicated one-to-one support, assist with learning, wellbeing and development, and collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to maintain an inclusive learning environment across

  • Recent school-based experience.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis.

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting students with high and complex ASD needs?


GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD to join a welcoming all-through SEN school in Southgate, N14, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN professional to gain valuable experience supporting students with complex additional needs while working within a supportive school environment. With potential for regular work for the right candidate leading to a permanent contract, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your SEN career.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD


Start Date: ASAP


Contract: Ad Hoc Supply Work


Hours: 8:15am – 3:45pm


About the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

Provide dedicated support to students with high and complex ASD needs.


Support students with their learning, communication, wellbeing and development.


Provide 1:1 support where required and adapt approaches to individual needs.


Support students with a range of SEN needs across different year groups.

SEN Teaching Assistant requirements:

Minimum 1 year’s experience supporting students with ASD/SEN and very high needs.


Recent school-based experience.


Experience supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis.


Able to support students with a range of SEN needs.


Flexible and able to work across KS1–KS2.


Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.


Right to Work in the UK.


Two to three professional references covering the last two to three years.
