Job summary

The Fitzroy Academy, part of New Reflexions, is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant near Shrewsbury to support students with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. You’ll work in small groups or one-to-one under a teacher’s guidance, contributing to bespoke learning plans and personal-care support.

We value resilience, enthusiasm and a calm approach. Training will be provided; applicants should be prepared for an engaging, progressive environment and a tour of the school upon request.

Qualifications

• Experience working with challenging young people in a special needs environment or educational setting.
• Ability to work one-to-one with students under guidance.
• Willingness to undertake further special needs training.

Responsibilities

• Support small groups or individuals to access bespoke learning programmes.
• Assist a class teacher within small classes.
• Contribute to a calm, positive learning environment and adapt to students’ developmental needs.
