Job summary

Supply Desk are seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Rickmansworth area. You will support children with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and reach their potential alongside teachers and support staff.

The role requires patience, empathy, and strong communication. Prior experience in a primary or secondary setting is desirable, and safeguarding training is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Safeguarding training completed.
• Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Assist pupils with accessing the curriculum.
• Encourage positive behaviour and social development.
• Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
• Implement individual support strategies.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
