Looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference every single day?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Newquay area from September.

This is a long-term opportunity within the same school, making it perfect for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and being a consistent, trusted adult in a child's school life.

Unlike day-to-day supply, this role offers stability, routine, and the chance to see the impact of your support over time.

Why This Role Stands Out

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Work consistently within the same school
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Support a child or small group on their learning journey
  • Become part of a supportive school community
  • Gain valuable SEN experience
  • Potentially secure a permanent position

For the right person, this is much more than a temporary role.

About the Role

You will be supporting pupils with additional needs, which may include:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • Speech and language difficulties
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
  • Communication and interaction needs
  • Learning difficulties

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Helping pupils access classroom learning
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
  • Creating a calm, nurturing and structured environment
Who We're Looking For

This role would suit someone who is:

  • Patient, resilient and caring
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  • Comfortable building positive relationships
  • Calm under pressure and consistent in their approach
  • Reliable and committed to making a difference

We'd particularly love to hear from:

  • SEN Teaching Assistants
  • Support Workers
  • Care Professionals
  • Youth Workers
  • Behaviour Mentors
  • Experienced Teaching Assistants looking for a long-term role

Experience is valuable, but attitude and commitment are equally important.

What You'll Need
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • Enhanced Childworkforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Strong references covering recent employment
Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
  • Weekly PAYE pay
  • Free CPD training including SEN, behaviour and safeguarding
  • Dedicated local consultant support

  • Easy booking and administration through the myTP app
  • Schools that value consistency and quality support staff
