Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join an award-winning specialist school in Reigate on a long-term contracted basis. You will provide individualised support to students on the autism spectrum, including those with high-functioning autism and other disabilities, helping them succeed in daily learning.

Working hours are 8:30 to 4:30. DBS checks are required or willingness to undergo one. Driving is preferred due to location near public transport and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN pupils (3–6 months) or transferable care/support experience.
• Understanding of autism and other disabilities.
• Willing to undergo Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or have one.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to students on the autism spectrum.
• Assist students in daily learning activities and transitions.
• Support classroom activities and behaviour management under supervision.

Requirements

The school is near public transport options however driving is preferred.

Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to undergo one.

Proven history of 3-6 months working with SEN pupils or transferable skills from similar industries e.g. care or support work.

An understanding of various complex disabilities and/or autism.

Transferrable skills from other related fields: care, support work or similar.
