Carmarthenshire County Council is recruiting a Teaching Assistant Level 3 for Penygaer CP School in Llanelli. The role is 32.5 hours per week, term-time only, for one year with potential for permanency based on performance. Duties include supporting pupils with learning and welfare needs, including ASD-specific support, under supervision.

The post requires DBS level enhanced, Welsh language level 1, and a commitment to safeguarding. Closing date: 02/10/2026; interview around 16 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Welsh language skills required at basic level.
• Dbs check required (Enhanced with Barred List).
• Term-time only, 32.5 hours per week, temporary for 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Attend to pupils' learning and personal needs.
• Implement personal programmes including social, health, hygiene, First Aid and welfare tasks.
• Support delivery of education plans for ASD pupils.
