Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join Bennerley Fields School in Ilkeston to support pupils with SEN. You will work alongside teachers to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping learners access differentiated lessons and reach EHCP targets.

The role is full-time, term-time only, with an emphasis on safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and collaborative practice with families and external professionals. Commitment to making a difference is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
• Caring, patient, and resilient nature.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students across the school.
• Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Support pupils to achieve their learning objectives and EHCP targets.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
• Assist students with a range of communication, sensory, and learning needs.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals.
• Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all children and young people.
