Job summary

Teaching Personnel in the United Kingdom is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a partner school in Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf. The role supports pupils with ALN/SEN, working 1:1 or in small groups during school hours.

You will adapt resources, promote positive behaviour and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and parents. DBS check is required; UK right to work and two references are needed. This is a full-time, long-term position with potential for permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
• Two professional references covering the last two years
• Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults is desirable
• Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care or related fields are beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
• Adapt resources and learning approaches to meet individual pupil needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their progress and wellbeing
• Implement personalised support plans, behaviour plans and educational targets
• Support pupils during classroom activities, breaktimes and educational visits
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals
• Promote independence, confidence and social development
• Follow safeguarding, behaviour management and school policies at all times
