Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Newham school in East London. The role focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 support to students with high and complex ASD needs, helping them access learning and build independence.

This long-term, full-time position offers consistent hours from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with an immediate start. You will be supported by a GSL Education consultant and have access to CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year's experience supporting students with high and complex ASD needs.
• Recent primary school-based experience.
• Confident providing 1:1 SEN support.
• Physically capable of meeting the demands of supporting students with very high needs.
• Patient, compassionate and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to students with high and complex ASD needs.
• Supporting students with significant additional learning and behavioural needs.
• Helping students engage in classroom activities and daily routines.
• Promoting communication, independence and positive behaviour.
• Working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to meet individual needs.
