Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting an experienced SEN TA to work within a specialist SEND setting in Greenwich. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism and complex needs, on a 1:1 or small group basis, to help them access learning and build independence.

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement education and care plans, manage behaviours positively and ensure safeguarding standards are met.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience working with autism, learning difficulties or complex needs.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
• A good understanding of safeguarding.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Personal care experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND in learning, 1:1 or small group settings.
• Help pupils access learning and develop communication and independence.
• Manage behaviour positively and support inclusive education.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement education and care plans.
