Job summary

Supply Staff Ltd in Gloucestershire is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for full-time, long-term roles and day-to-day supply positions. You will support students with special educational needs and help them access learning in the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have experience or training in SEN support, excellent communication, patience and empathy, and a willingness to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Experience or training in supporting SEN students.
  • Strong communication skills, patience and empathy.
  • Passion for helping children with additional learning needs.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply.
  • Full compliance with standard UK school safeguarding regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one to one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist the SEN Teaching Assistant team with classroom activities and individual learning goals.
  • Support students with personal development and social integration.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor student progress and adapt learning materials.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions and school activities.
