Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people aged 3-19 with special educational needs in a nurturing school environment. This full-time role runs 8:30am to 4:00pm, term-time only, with a focus on care, building relationships and helping pupils access learning.

Previous SEN experience is not essential. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are caring, patient and ready to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated care, support and encouragement to pupils aged 3-19.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Support pupils with their personal, social and emotional development.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Support pupils with a range of additional and special educational needs.
  • Help pupils access learning and participate in activities at their own level.
  • Provide a combination of care, nurture and some academic support.
  • Encourage independence and celebrate individual progress and achievements.
  • Work closely with teachers and other members of the team to provide consistent support.
  • Help create a calm, safe and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

We are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supportive team, working with children and young people aged 3-19.

Previous SEN experience is not essential. We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds who have the right attitude, a caring nature and a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.

This is a role where care, nurture, patience and building meaningful relationships are just as important as academic learning. You will support pupils in their day-to-day lives, helping them to feel safe, valued, confident and able to achieve their potential.

The role
