Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for a small rural Lancashire primary school. The role involves supporting children with ASD through 1:1 and classroom assistance, in a warm, supportive environment.

Ideal candidates are Psychology graduates or experienced support workers, with a valid driving licence and own car to access the countryside setting. This is a full-time, long-term position designed to develop skills in SEN education and child development.

Qualifications

• Recent Psychology or related graduates encouraged to apply.
• Valid driving licence and own car essential.
• Experience working with autism (ASD) advantageous.
• Ability to work in a rural countryside setting.

Responsibilities

• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and participation
• Adapting activities and explanations to individual learning needs
• Encouraging confidence, independence and social development
• Supporting Numeracy, Literacy and wider classroom learning
• Following individual programmes set by specialists including SLT
• Working closely with teachers and fellow TAs to nurture each child's development
