Job summary

Mana Education is seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Nottingham and surrounding areas, from Early Years to post-16. Opportunities include day-to-day supply, short-term, long-term and permanent roles, with full-time and part-time hours available.

Roles cover SEN/SEND support across autism, SEMH, MLD/SLD, PMLD, SLCN and other needs. Training and school-specific requirements will be explained before placement, with a focus on safeguarding and inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Patience, reliability, clear communication and safeguarding are essential.
• Experience with visual supports, Makaton, PECS or positive behaviour approaches is welcome where relevant.
• Background in education, care, youth work or disability support may be suitable depending on role.
• Ability to adapt to diverse SEND needs across different school settings.

Responsibilities

• Opportunities may span Early Years, primary, secondary and post-16, supporting pupils individually, in small groups or within a classroom.
• Help pupils access learning under the teacher's direction and adapt resources as needed.
• Build positive relationships, encourage participation and support emotional regulation.
• Record observations to support individual targets and EHCP outcomes, with safeguarding as a priority.
