Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a dependable SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Hampshire talent pool for opportunities across Southampton. This role offers flexible supply and longer-term positions in mainstream and specialist education settings, working with pupils who have additional needs.

You will remove barriers to learning and help pupils participate as independently as possible, with focus on communication and social interaction.

Qualifications

• Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant candidates or transferable experience are welcome.
• Ability to support pupils with communication, learning, attention and social interaction.
• Strong patience, emotional maturity and reliability are important.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused 1:1 support to pupils.
• Deliver small-group activities planned by the teacher.
• Break learning into manageable steps and use visual prompts.
• Support communication and interaction and help pupils stay engaged.
• Follow individual strategies and EHCP outcomes and support positive behaviour.
