Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for a supportive secondary special-school environment, working with students aged 11-17 with complex learning needs. Full-time, term-time only, Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.

You will work with teachers and the support team to provide learning and pastoral support, helping students access the curriculum, develop independence and social skills, and build confidence.

Qualifications

• Caring and patient approach to working with young people.
• Strong communication with students, teachers and families.
• Ability to work as part of a supportive team.
• Commitment to inclusion and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students.
• Support learning activities and classroom routines.
• Help students access the curriculum and develop independence.

• Support communication and social interaction.
• Assist with personal care when required while maintaining dignity.
