Job summary

St Joseph's Specialist Trust is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 5-19 with complex needs at Cranleigh. The role is 36 hours per week, permanent, with a salary up to £26,189 FTE and pro rata for term time.

You will work within a supportive team, receiving full training including a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship funded by the Trust, and ongoing CPD to develop your skills and confidence.

Qualifications

• Empathy, compassion and resilience are essential.
• Strong literacy and numeracy support required for records.

Responsibilities

• Support core subjects (literacy, numeracy, PSHE) and daily living skills.
• Assist students with communication using Makaton or signs and symbols.
• Provide guidance to manage anxiety and behaviour in a multi-sensory setting.
• Collaborate with a skilled team and participate in training and mentoring.
