Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join welcoming and supportive schools in Hinckley. Location: Hinckley.

This role offers Full-time / Part-time positions with flexible opportunities and a salary dependent on experience. You will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, working closely with teachers and SENCOs to create an inclusive learning environment, either one-to-one or in small groups, helping students access the

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar role supporting children with Special Educational Needs is essential.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential, or you must be willing to obtain one before starting employment.
  • Experience supporting pupils with needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, or other additional learning needs is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Support pupils with their learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage independence.
  • Prepare learning resources and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other professionals to support pupil progress.
