Job summary

Supply Desk, in partnership with a supportive primary school in the Uxbridge area, seeks a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a care background to support children with additional needs and contribute to their learning, wellbeing, and development.

You will work with pupils with various needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, providing 1:1 and small group support while helping implement IEPs and behaviour strategies in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in care, support, or residential settings.
• Passion for working with children with additional needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and engaging lessons
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment
• Support personal care needs where required (if applicable to your experience)
• Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence in pupils
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff
