Job summary

TeacherActive is a specialist college in Hereford, HR1, seeking a proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 16 to 24 with SEN and complex needs. The role is full-time and temporary with an immediate start, focused on practical learning and life skills to boost independence and confidence.

You will assist with practical activities, engage students, and provide individualized support to help learners develop communication skills and self-reliance in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential.
• Experience supporting young people with SEN desirable.
• Interest in supporting young people aged 16 to 24 within a specialist education setting.
• Ability to engage students through practical learning and life skills activities.

Responsibilities

• Support students across the provision with practical learning activities.
• Encourage positive engagement and provide individualized support to help students develop confidence, communication skills and independence.
• Assist with day-to-day classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Support with practical learning activities to promote independence and life skills.
