# SEN Teaching Assistant - Bishop King Primary School## Job IntroductionWe are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic **SEN Teaching Assistant** to work as part of our SEND team. The role will be for 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, commencing from November 2026. You should have experience of working with children and be able to adapt the curriculum under the guidance of the class teacher/SENDCo. You should be creative and caring with a commitment to quality educational provision. A good standard of English (both spoken and written English) and Maths is essential, along with lots of enthusiasm. There will be plenty of opportunities for professional development and the chance to build a wide range of skills in the classroom, supporting individual children's learning and their all-round development. **The successful applicant will be expected to:** • Provide support for the child’s additional needs if applicable • Prepare resources and teaching materials, under the guidance of the class teacher/SENDCo • Liaise with the class teacher and SENDCo • Liaise with outside agencies and parents, under the guidance of the class teacher • High expectations for behaviour and learning **We are looking for a candidate who has:** • A positive attitude and excellent work ethos • Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and other professionals • Experience of working in a similar role • The ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team • Flexibility and adaptability • A willingness to learn and develop existing skills • A sense of humour • A willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ **Closing Date:** Sunday 11th October 2026 **Interview Date:**W/C Monday 12th October 2026**Fluency Duty**In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.The school advertising the vacancy will contact you directly regarding the outcome of your application and any interviews.
