Job summary

Classroom Support is partnering with a well-established SEN school in Gravesend to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants for September. The school serves Primary and Secondary students with ASD, PMLD, and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, offering a supportive learning environment and college provision nearby.

These roles are temporary with a path to a permanent contract after a successful period working through Classroom Support.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an SEN school or supporting children with ASD or Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties.
• Kind, patient and compassionate approach with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Experience supporting individuals with PMLD, medical needs, or moving and handling (highly desirable).
• Willingness to provide personal care where required, as some classes involve intimate care needs.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one and register it on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with teaching staff to provide high-quality support for pupils to access learning and develop independence.
• Help pupils achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing environment.
