Job summary

Remedy Education in Peterborough is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a welcoming school. You'll work with teachers, SENCOs, and families to adapt activities and promote inclusion.

Ideal candidates may be experienced or graduates, with a caring, proactive approach, excellent communication, and a commitment to safeguarding. The role is 35 hours per week in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Positive, caring and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for inclusive education.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Assist children with Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.
  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and classroom participation.
  • Promote communication, confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils' emotional, social and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and parents where appropriate.
