Job summary

Parish CE Primary School in London is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant (17.5 hours, term-time only) to support pupils with Education Health Care Plans under teacher guidance. The role involves classroom and outdoor learning support, resource preparation, and assisting with learning plans.

SEN Teaching Assistant 17.5hrs- Parish CE Primary

Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: Friday 13 th November 2026 – 9am

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, patient individual, who has an interest in SEND and a passion for teaching and learning, to work within our school setting. The role will be classroom based, working alongside pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan. Our aim is to provide an inclusive, broad and balanced curriculum for all learners. Working under the guidance of teachers, you will help pupils to access learning within the classroom and outdoor learning environments. Applicants should be confident in following teacher planning and implementation in class support.

An understanding and previous experience of working with children with ASD/Social Communication Difficulties is desirable. Some knowledge of Makaton, Sensory Integration and PECS would be an advantage.

Your responsibilities would include:

• Supporting children within a class/group/1-1 with additional needs.
• Working in our mini provision room supporting pupils with EHCPs.
• Working with the Class teacher and other support staff to prepare resources and deliver lessons.
• Having a flexible approach to behaviour management.
• Being a positive and solution-focused member of the team.
• Very good numeracy/literacy skills; GCSE grade C or above
