Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in Derby schools. This role suit someone passionate about helping children reach their potential in a supportive learning environment.

You will work on 1:1 and small group support, collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement IEPs, and promote positive behaviour and inclusive learning across settings. DBS update service required or obtainable through Aspire People.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children with SEN (school-based preferred).
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to different school settings and pupil needs.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties).
• Support students with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement IEPs.
• Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive, safe learning environment.
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials as needed.
