Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is recruiting a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with diverse needs in a Leeds primary school. You will provide 1:1 and small group assistance, helping pupils access tailored learning activities.

Working with a dedicated SENCo and school team, you will receive safeguarding and de-escalation training and develop inclusive teaching strategies. Full-time and part-time options are available in this Leeds setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children with SEN in a school or care setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children, staff and parents.
• Patient, resilient and creative with a caring approach.
• Understanding of child protection and safeguarding standards (KCSIE).
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN.
• Assist class teachers with EHCPs and individual education plans.
• Create engaging, adapted learning resources to support sensory and emotional development.
• Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom atmosphere encouraging independence.
• Support positive behaviour and de-escalation strategies.
