Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Derby. You will support children with Special Educational Needs, helping them reach their full potential in a supportive learning environment.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with IEPs, promote positive behaviour and collaborate with teachers and SENCOs. A patient, caring approach and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based preferred).
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Aspire People).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties).
• Support students with academic, social and emotional development.
• Work with class teachers and SENCOs to implement IEPs.
• Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive, safe learning environment.
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials as needed.
