Job summary

Engage Education are seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant for a Rochdale secondary school, starting September 2026, to provide focused 1:1 and small group SEN support throughout the academic year.

Ideal applicants include Psychology, Education Studies or Neuroscience graduates; enhanced DBS is desirable. The role offers term-time pay, CPD courses online, and a potential permanent position on course completion.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in any capacity.
• Graduates in Psychology, Education Studies or Neuroscience encouraged.
• Outgoing and engaging personality with interest in teaching.
• Enhanced DBS on update service desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conducting specifically tailored 1:1 & small group support for children with SEN.
• Creating warm and inspiring atmosphere for children throughout school day.
• Creating and sustaining meaningful rapport with students.
• Communicating with colleagues and reporting to school SENCO.
• Located in one Rochdale secondary school for full academic year.
