Job summary

Five Education in Bridgwater is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND and mental health challenges through 1:1 and small-group work across the school day.

The role suits candidates with prior TA/LSA experience; full-time commitment required. DBS, right to work in the UK, and two references are essential. A supportive team and training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship)
• Two recent references (last two years)
• Current DBS check on Update Service or willing to apply
• DBS cost £62.70 if needed, refunded after 20 days of work

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups in classroom and outdoors
• Help pupils stay focused, calm and regulated
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs
• Support pupils with ASD/ADHD, learning disabilities, speech and language needs, sensory needs, and behavioural challenges
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment
