A leading educational recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs. Successful candidates will work closely with pupils exhibiting a range of needs, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. The role involves building strong relationships with students and adapting learning materials to meet diverse individual needs.
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a kind, patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team as soon as possible, supporting pupils to achieve their potential both academically and socially.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Work closely with individual pupils or small groups with additional needs, including those with EHCPs.
Support children with a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social/emotional needs.
Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Adapt resources and learning tasks to suit individual needs.
Provide personal care and supervision as required.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable).
A nurturing, empathetic and flexible approach to supporting pupils.
A good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs or equivalent).
A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, SEND strategies).
A team player who is committed to the values and ethos of inclusive education.
