Job summary

Hays Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a friendly primary school in Walsall. You will support Year 3 pupils with diverse learning needs, delivering tailored interventions and helping them access the curriculum.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will monitor progress, provide feedback, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment to help every child reach their potential.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism.
  • Experience working with small groups requiring extra support.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support a group of Year 3 pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Deliver tailored support to children with Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism.
  • Assist pupils with classwork and adapt activities to individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction and independence.
  • Support academic, emotional and social development of pupils.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a group of children in Year 3 with a range of additional learning needs, including Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference and helping children overcome barriers to learning. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide targeted support to help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve their individual learning goals.

The Role
  • Supporting a small group of Year 3 pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Delivering tailored support to children with Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism.
  • Assisting pupils with classwork and adapting activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, social interaction and independence.
  • Supporting children's academic, emotional and social development.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary school setting.
