Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a special school in Tonypandy, Rhondda Cynon Taf. This role focuses on learners with ASD and Global Delay, offering safeguarding and development of each child's potential in an inclusive setting.

You will work with flexible hours, providing 1:1 or small group support, adapting to individual education plans and supporting classroom routines under supervising staff.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months of experience working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings; SEN experience beneficial.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – support available for registration.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• References covering the last two years with no significant gaps.
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay, or challenging behaviour to promote positive learning outcomes
• Assisting learners during class start and end routines, and helping prepare classrooms for lessons
• Providing 1:1 or small group support for students in line with their individual education plans (IEPs)
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour in accordance with safeguarding policies
• Engaging learners during break times, lunchtimes, and various classroom activities to foster participation and development
