Job summary

Academics in Swanley is seeking a dedicated SEN TA to join a fantastic SEN school on a full-time, long-term basis. You will help pupils build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and celebrate achievements, making a real difference every day.

If you have experience in care, youth work or psychology studies and a passion for supporting children, we’d love to hear from you. Flexible start date and ongoing support provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • A caring, patient and resilient attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to engage with learning and reach potential.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver creative and inclusive learning activities.
  • Support children with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs and learning difficulties.
  • Adapt resources and learning strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patience and consistency.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, teachers and families.
  • Support with personal care or specialist equipment where required.

Pay: 92.56 - 95 per day, dependent on qualifications and experience

Whether you're an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or have transferable skills from care, youth work, support work or experience studying psychology we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to engage with learning and reach their full potential.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver creative and inclusive learning activities.
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs and learning difficulties.
  • Adapt resources and learning strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patience and consistency.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, teachers and families.
  • Support with personal care or specialist equipment where required.
