We are looking for people like you who have these valuable qualities and would be an asset in a SEN school.

No experience is required, although it is desired. Perhaps you have cared for a relative or neighbour and have gained transferrable skills, or maybe you have always known you want to enter a setting where you can use your strong people skills.

Working in a SEN school is rewarding, challenging, and no two days are the same.

Qualities we look for in a SEN Student Support Assistant:

  • Good team player
  • Willing to assist with personal care once given training
  • Highly empathetic
  • Commitment to a safe and inclusive learning environment

Highly desirable but not essential qualities we look for in a SEN Student Support Assistant:

  • Any level of BSL
  • Any level of Makaton
  • Experience with moving and handling
  • Experience with personal care
  • Experience with assisted eating and drinking

Information on SEN Student Support Assistant role:

  • Pay - £78 per day (rising to £85 per day with National Living Wage increase)
  • Hours - 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday. Part-Time or Full-Time. You are in charge of your work diary
  • Year- EYFS - KS5 (ages 4-19)
  • Benefit - onsite parking, subsidised lunch
