This role is available to start as soon as possible at a specialist school located in Plymouth.

The position requires some experience working with SEN children or in a related setting.

  • Work with pupils one-to-one or in small groups
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons
  • Support students with challenging behavior
  • Prepare resources and classroom equipment for lessons
  • Assist with pupils' additional care needs, such as feeding and toileting
  • Help pupils complete daily tasks and learning activities
  • Ensure pupils are safeguarded and supported
Minimum Requirements
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  • Two recent professional references
  • Experience managing challenging behaviors
  • A calm, caring, and resilient personality
  • Strong reading, writing, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Team Teach trained or willing to attend training
