Job summary

Zest Education in Rugeley is seeking a dedicated Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rugeley. This is a full-time supply role starting September.

Hours: Monday–Friday, term time only. You will provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN, and work closely with teachers and SENCOs to help each child reach their potential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEN in school or care setting.
  • Patient, empathetic and able to build strong relationships.
  • Able to adapt approach to individual learners.
  • Confident in supporting behaviour, communication and emotional needs.
  • Reliable, flexible and committed to full-time hours.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning delays.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation and confidence.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external professionals.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rugeley. In this role, you will provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with a range of learning, developmental, and behavioural needs. You'll work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a positive, nurturing, and structured environment where every child can succeed.

Salary is competitive, based on experience. Minimum experience, training, or qualifications required include recent school‑based experience (within the last 5 years) in a school that teaches the British Curriculum and/or care‑based experience within the last 5 years.
