Job summary

School House Recruitment Ltd is urgently seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants for Primary School assignments in the Rotherham area, with a strong emphasis on Nursery experience.

You will support pupils with additional needs across whole class, small groups, and 1-2-1 settings, with part- or full-time options Monday to Friday, starting ASAP. Join a friendly team and receive expert guidance, ongoing training, and swift registration support.

Qualifications

• Experience as SEN Teaching Assistant in primary settings.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Comfortable supporting pupils in whole-class, small-group, and 1-2-1 interventions.
• Passionate about education and learners with additional needs (SEN).
• Available for full- or part-time roles Monday–Friday starting ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs in daily classroom activities.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering targeted support.
• Deliver 1-2-1 interventions when required.

What type of individuals are we looking for?

• We need experienced SEN Teaching Assistants
• Individuals with either a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
• Confident individuals who are happy to work in whole class, in small groups or on a 1-2-1 basis
• Positive role models who work closely with the class teacher to offer pupils additional support
• Individuals who are passionate about the education of young learners especially those with additional needs (SEN)
• Individuals available to work full and part-time hours Monday to Friday, on day-to-day and/or long-term assignments, starting asap

Ideally, the individals we need are Level 2 and/or Full and Relevant (for pupil ratio reasons) Level 3 qualified and have practical classroom experience working with pupils who have additional needs. The additional needs can be specific e.g. Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language, or more general learning difficulties.

Whether working closely with the class teacher in whole class, taking smaller groups or doing 1-2-1 intervention work, our SEN Teaching Assistants confidently provide a valuable contribution to the schools we assist.

We always have a variety of short and long-term opportunities for SEN Teaching Assistants looking to broaden their practical classroom experience working on supply. Assignments can be full and/or part-time to help manage life/work balance.
